Life is Effective Therapist


As years passed away I have formed the habit of looking back upon the former self as upon another person, the remembrance of whose emotions has been a solace in adversity and added zest to the enjoyment of prosperity.    In 2019, I have not travelled anywhere not any single place but that can’t bore me. In December there was a plan but not materialize. So I decided to celebrate Christmas and Year-end in a special way.  Three days with food made me the happiest person in the world. These days enriched my confidence, gave a lift to my soul and make me believe in myself.  I found that “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking”. Following the words of George Bernard Shaw “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself”, I learn, I cook, I enjoy and trying to create a new version of me. I segmented my journey in 3 parts like-






Beginning-

“Santa Claus is anyone who loves others & makes them happy.”

Celebration of Christmas and New Year end very much lucrative for all of us. For me, in 2019 Christmas celebration began on 22.12.19 when an immensely pleasurable workshop took place arranged by the eminent personality and my favourite Santa Claus Rukma Dakshy. It seemed like a gathering of friends with foods rather than a typical workshop. It is the unique character of Rukma Daskhy’s workshop. First time in my life exceptional Christmas celebration began with pure fresh air from Rukma Dakshy’s aura.  17 participants were present to learn from Rukma mam. Among 17, 2 had come from Durgapur only to attain the workshop.

4 items were made in the workshop namely plum cake, Christmas pudding, Roast chicken, Chicken custard flan.  Test of each one was heavenly mouth-watering.  Rukma Mam taught, made us understand and informing and met all queries and also cooked 4 unique dishes with 17 people in her kitchen so fluently and easily that as a viewer you can interpret that cooking is so butter work. Sometimes I, even so, amazed I asked myself “is that really that easy.” Believe that was not. It’s her expertise and love with food which was reflected in every possible way. It was perfectly great Christmas Eve with so much heavenly mouth-watering foods with a hot sip of tea.


Middle-

 It was chilled cold  Christmas day -25th December in 2019 and birthday of my little sister. So it was always a time for a double celebration. Our entire family with two in-laws house (mine and sisters), husband and our mom dad and we –and the party began with a total of 14 members. I had started the day by buying fish from the local market as my father think that I am a very good shopper in every possible way. Returned home and  I had prepared two dishes- Butter Fry and Crispy Pakora of Yellowtail mullet or Ganges river sprat ( kachki Macher Bora) first time ever in my life I have made these dishes. Both were praised by all, which gave me immense pleasure and boost up the energy for my innovative cooking. After that cake cutting celebration began, all cheers and hooted. Altogether it was a very happening day.







Last but not least-:





We (me and my husband) had visited Territy bazar again on 30.12.19 in a cold shivering morning in kolkata at 5 am to enjoy the amazingly unique Chinese delicacies. This foodie extravaganza always mesmerized people with its flavours color of foods and obviously with taste. We had a hand on experience of the taste of some verities from our previous experience so that this time we go for those which we missed earlier. We found two unique dishes were Chitol Macher Momo (Momo made from Clown Knife fish) and Dumplings with red hot chilli sauce.












Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instil in us. Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it, right-Oprah Winfrey
