Dahi Paratha Recipe- Tangy Yogurt Flatbread from Indian Kitchen

Forget plain parathas—Dahi Paratha, or yogurt-infused flatbread, is a hidden gem in Indian home kitchens. Unlike the usual versions stuffed with vegetables or paneer, this variation blends thick curd (dahi) right into the dough, giving it a tangy twist and melt-in-the-mouth softness. With its rich aroma of spices and cooling taste, this dish is perfect for breakfast or a light lunch, especially during warm seasons. Quick to prepare and easy to digest, it pairs beautifully with pickles, chutney, or just a dollop of butter. Let’s dive into this comforting, rustic recipe from the heart of India!


Ingredients:

1.      Flour (affiliate link)-500 Gram

2.      Sour Yogurt- 200 gram

3.      Baking Powder (affiliate link)- 1 teaspoon

4.      Black Pepper- 1 teaspoon

5.      Salt- 1 teaspoon

6.      Butter- 100 gram

7.      Chopped Coriander Leaves - 1 cup

8.      Carom Seeds- 1 teaspoon (slightly grinded)

9.      Ginger paste- 1 teaspoon

10.    Dry Mango Powder (affiliate link)- 1 teaspoon

11.   Chat Masala (affiliate link)- 1 teaspoon

12.   Oil – 1 cup

Method-:

1.  Take a small bowl (affiliate link) and add yogurt and baking powder. Whisk      Properly and Leave  for 10 minutes

2.   Take a big bowl add the flour, black pepper, salt, carom seeds, ginger paste, dry mango powder, chopped coriander leaves.

3.    Now add the yogurt in the bowl.

4.    Knead the flour and form a dough

5.    Grease with butter and rest it for ½ hour.

6.    Make equal size balls from the dough

7.    Spread flour on the rolling floor (affiliate link).

8.    Roll the each ball and give shape according to your choice

9.    Take a pan/ tawa (affiliate link). Add 1 teaspoon butter and 1 tablespoon oil.

10.   Heat well.

11.   Add the paratha/ flatbread in the pan.

12.   Fry well on middle flame on both sides.

13.   Now spread ½ teaspoon oil / 1 teaspoon butter and press slightly both the sides.

14.   Flip again once or twice till both the sides are crisp properly.

15.   Sprinkle chat masala over the Paratha and serve with chutney/Dip or Sabji / raita.
