Restaurant Style Creamy Butter Chicken at Home

Butter Chicken, the Royal Comfort on a Plate. There’s something undeniably magical about a bowl of Butter Chicken—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Originating from the heart of Delhi, this iconic North Indian dish combines tender chicken pieces simmered in a velvety tomato-butter gravy, perfectly balanced with a hint of spice and sweetness. Whether it’s a festive gathering or a cozy dinner at home, Butter Chicken never fails to steal the spotlight. In today’s recipe, I’m sharing a simple yet authentic version that brings restaurant-style taste straight to your kitchen. Let’s dive into this timeless classic that warms hearts and satisfies every craving!

Ingredients for creamy butter chicken neatly arranged—boneless chicken, butter, cream, tomatoes, cashews, spices, ginger-garlic paste, and fresh coriander.

Ingredients-:

1.      Chicken- 1 kg ( leg and thai)

2.      Kasuri Methi- 2 table spoon

3.      Kashmiri red chili powder -1 tablespoon

4.      Onion paste- 1 cup

5.      Sliced onion – 1 cup

6.      Fresh cream- 1 cup

7.      Milk- ¼ cup

8.      Ginger Paste- 1 tablespoon

9.      Garlic paste- 1 tablespoon

10.   Butter- 100 gram

11.   Lime juice- 2 teaspoon

12.   Coriander leaves chopped-1 cup

13.   Tomato puree- 1 cup

14.   Salt and Sugar- As per requirement

15.   Green Chili paste- 1 tablespoon

16.   Cashew nut paste- ½ cup

17.   Hung Curd- ½ cup

18.   White pepper powder- 1 teaspoon

19.   Nutmeg Powder- 1 teaspoon

20.   Garam Masala Powder- 1 teaspoon

21.   Oil- 1/2 cup

Process-:

1.     Wash and dry the chicken pieces.

2.  Marinate the chicken with lime juice, 1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste,  Mix with chicken properly. Rest it for at least 1 hr in freeze.

3.  Take a pan add oil ½ cup and 2 tablespoon butter.

4.  Heat well then add sliced onion fry till golden brown. Remove it from the oil.

5. Then fry chicken pieces with same oil to medium brown.

6.  Now in the pan  add curd, cashew nut paste, salt, sugar, garam masala powder, chopped coriander 1 portion, mix well. Cover the pan.  Cook for 7/8 minutes.

7. Now add tomato puree and check the seasoning if needed add some sugar.

8.  Now add fried onion 1 portion, green chili paste mix well and cook for 2/3 minutes.

9.  Add Chicken pieces. Mix well. Cook for 7/8 minutes. Let the oil comes out.

10. Now add 1 and 1/2warm water.

11. Stir well and cover it. Sim the gas for at least 10 minutes.

12. Again stir and add Nutmeg powder cover and let it be for another 5 minutes.

13. Now if the water reduced to your required level and chicken is tender after that add kasuri methi leaves (crush it on your pulm)

14. Mix well covers it and again cooks for 5 minutes.

15. Sprinkle melted butter over it with remaining portion of fried onion and coriander leave chopped. Cover it till serve.

16. Serve with Kulcha, Garlic Nun, Butter nun or as per choice.
